The website needed replacing, but rankings couldn't drop and ads couldn't stop

The WordPress site took 1.3 seconds to first response, worked poorly on mobile, and made adding AI features close to impossible. The hard part was that moving it carried real risk while Google Ads kept running: lose rankings and you lose organic traffic; break an ad landing page and the ads get disapproved.

The problems we found

  • 1.3 seconds to first response, and a poor experience on mobile
  • Lost rankings = lost organic traffic; a broken landing page = disapproved ads and recalculated Quality Scores
  • WordPress's architecture made it hard to build AI automation on top

What we changed

  • 1:1 migration: all 8 existing URLs kept exactly as they were (trailing slashes included), with meta tags and structured data copied one by one before any optimization
  • Google Ads landing pages needed no special handling, so there was no risk of interruption
  • DNS cutover through Cloudflare with rollback in minutes; the old site kept for at least a month after the switch as a fallback
  • After the move, an AI content pipeline on top: AI draft → automatic check for terms banned under Taiwan's Medical Care Act → human review → one-click publish, in line with Google's YMYL requirements

Results

  • Time to first response: 1334ms → under 100ms
  • Ad landing pages needed no special handling, and campaigns ran without interruption
Not losing rankings in the move is the baseline. The problem is only solved when the site can keep changing with what the business needs.
