Excel consolidation: put all your numbers in one place first
The first step in report automation is often not the report. It is getting every number into one place. If the source formats don't match, even an expensive BI tool will draw charts that don't line up.
What you'll notice
- Each unit uses its own Excel format, and consolidating them means matching formats by hand.
- File names include "final (2)", and no one is sure which one is current.
- By the time numbers reach management they are already a step behind, with no view of where things stand now.
Where it usually gets stuck
- Going straight to a BI tool carries the mismatched source formats, and the mismatches, into the new tool.
- If historical data isn't migrated, you end up running two systems side by side for a long time.
- Putting the data in a cloud SaaS means ownership and access are no longer entirely in your hands.
How we fix it
We look at how your team actually works before deciding what to change and with what. These are the methods this kind of problem usually calls for. Automation, AI and custom code are tools among them.
- A central database (self-hosted Supabase), so the data stays with your company.
- A web dashboard replaces scattered Excel files, with one format across every unit.
- An Excel batch-import tool where you choose the range to import.
- Full migration of historical data, so past numbers live in the same place.
How we check it worked
- Every import is previewed with a dry run and checked before anything is written to the database.
